Colombia Planadas is an instant favourite. It is a generous coffee, with its smooth mouth feel and great body; featuring tastes of sweet cacao with hints of fruit and raisins. It is versatile, perfect for all levels of roasting experience. 

COUNTRY: Colombia  
A country of unique geography that produces some of the highest quality coffee in the world. Colombia has the perfect growing conditions for coffee; a mild climate, volcanic soil, high altitudes, year-round production and prime amounts of sun and rain. For 200 years Colombia has been exporting their famous 100% arabica coffee and remain one of the largest producing nations. The production of coffee is a team effort, with nearly half a million small farms working together to supply the world with delicious coffee that tends to have a bright acidity and a medium body. One last thing we love about Colombian farmers, is the extra care they take by “cherry picking” over the more favored strip picking by machine. A tree is examined every 10 days and only the ripe cherries are hand-picked. 

REGION: Planadas, Tolima 
Planadas is the primary growing region in the broader region of Tolima, recognized for producing some of the finest coffee in Colombia. Remotely located in the Andean Mountains, Planadas is one of the most beautiful municipalities in Tolima and home to hard working and passionate people. The higher altitudes, closer to the equator, yield coffees that are higher in acidity and distinguishable by their fruity sweetness.

Being a family run business, means that Oro Molido understands the importance of people and the surrounding community. This is demonstrated in the community, where they provide access to free healthcare and education support through their foundation. They believe that origin plays a large part in producing a good coffee, but it is the people who make it great. By training their entire staff from pickers to management on the best practices, they can ensure a quality production from planting to mill to export and finally import. Their state-of-the-art lab and scientific partnership with the Colombian Coffee Federation only adds to their ability to grow consistent flavor profiles, and reliable quality of coffee.
